It’s really great that you’re interested in joining in the Dragonboat Race – it’s become a major part of the Leeds Waterfront Festival.

Everyone who’s taken part before has gone away raving about it. This year we’re expecting a lot more teams as we support Marie Curie – the official charity for the Grand Depart of the Tour de France, as well as the Festival itself.

Come and join us have a splashing time!

Things you may want to know now:

Teams need to be between 12 -20 people strong, with 16 plus a drummer, racing at any one time. You’ll have three races and the winner is determined by fastest times (with a final nail- biting race between the two fastest overall at the end).

The race will take place In Leeds Dock (Clarence Dock) on Saturday 28th June.

This year the team price is £500.

(£25 - £42 per head depending on how many team members you have – less if your company will support you) Pretty good for a day’s fun with good team work (& cheaper than most nights out in the city!).

After the Dragon Boat company has been paid, profits will be donated to Marie Curie Cancer Care and the Festival funds.

The more teams that take part the better!
